James Pants tours, announces dates with Jamie Lidell, does Fabric podcast with Peanut Butter Wolf and more!
Just wanted to give you all the heads up...James Pants is touring including dates with Jamie Lidell!! This go around he'll be manning the turntables to bring you DJ sets the Pants way. Be on the lookout though, starting in July there will be a FULL BAND set-up for dates throughout the summer.

COLIN MELOY KICKS OFF SPRING SOLO TOUR TONIGHT!
Colin Meloy, lead singer/songwriter for The Decemberists, will embark on a solo tour of the United States on April 7th. Pre-sale tickets will be available beginning today at Noon EST at http://www.colinmeloy.tickets.musictoday.com. Singer-songwriter Laura Gibson will be the supporting act.
The tour coincides with the release of his debut solo album, Colin Meloy Sings Live! – due out April 8th on Kill Rock Stars. Available in both CD and double-gatefold LP configurations, Colin Meloy Sings Live! is a 14-song collection documenting his 2006 solo acoustic tour. The career-spanning set opens with “Devil’s Elbow,” a song that harkens back to Meloy’s first band, Tarkio, and closes with the rarity “Bandit Queen,” from The Decemberists’ 2006 EP, Picaresqueties. Along the way, Meloy performs material from The Decemberists’ three full-length Kill Rock Stars albums, debuts two new compositions (“Dracula’s Daughter” and “Wonder”) and entertains the audience with banter, at one point even coaxing them into a campfire singalong. Meloy weaves bits of songs by The Smiths, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd and REM into the proceedings and performs the traditional folk song “Barbara Allen” in a style reminiscent of Shirley Collins, the venerable British folk singer he paid homage to with the 2006 EP Colin Meloy Sings Shirley Collins. That EP – like its predecessor, 2005’s Colin Meloy Sings Morrissey – was sold only at his solo shows and has since become a collector’s item. And in that tradition, a new covers EP will be available on the upcoming tour: Colin Meloy Sings Sam Cooke, a collection of five Cooke songs, intimately arranged and performed by Colin, with Laura Gibson singing harmonies throughout.
Meloy wrapped up a short run of dates last night in the Pacific Northwest with The Decemberists. The itinerary for his solo tour is as follows:

Daedelus Releases Live Record; Announces Unique Fan Contest
Innovative West Coast electronic wizard seamlessly blends rave, R&B, hip-hop, electro, and acoustics into his most dance-friendly live set yet. "Live at Low End Theory" Out January 22nd on Alpha Pup Records.
One of L.A.'s most daring producers, Daedelus weaves together a true "love-sound" that falls between honeyed melodies and avant-electronics He chops and splices disparate acoustic sources into incredible works of staggering resonance. Contrasting IDM styled cut-ups with childlike arrangements from the 30s and 40s, he has refined a style that has no imitators. Exactly the kind of music you'd expect from a scarily well-connected hip hop nut who happens to dress in Edwardian clothing and names himself after an Ancient Greek Legend.
The Daedelus live show, which utilizes a custom-built trigger device called the Monome, has amazed audiences across the world, and secured his reputation as one of the most exciting live artists in electronic music. In 2007, Alpha Pup Records invited Daedelus to perform at their infamous Low End Theory weekly club in Los Angeles, and recorded the performance. Now, for the first time ever, the live Daedelus experience is available on CD and for digital download. With a body of work including releases through Mush, Plug Research, Hefty, Tigerbeat6, Eastern Developments, and Ninja Tune, Daedelus' rep is long since established.
