Terrorbird Takes The Cake Shop For CMJ Day Party

A huge thanks to everyone who came out to the Terrorbird CMJ Day Party at Cake Shop last Wednesday! Everything went even better than we could have hoped for, and people are still talking about the performances they saw there. If you missed it, we've got photos from the showcase and positive words from all over the Internet to get you up to speed. (That won't ease the pain of missing something this good, but you can at least get a feel for just how awesome it was.)

"The [Terrorbird] CMJ Day Party at The Cake Shop might not have been in midst of the most attended nighttime shows, but it was a sort of over-arching sampler of the many bands that are a part of this years CMJ Festival - psychedelic, folksy, garage pop, DJs and more. If anything, this performance was entirely indicative of the awesome music this festival has to offer." - Kerri Jerima, Zink Magazine

"A few hundred people crammed into the Cake Shop basement to see Will Wiesenfeld of Baths button-mash and dial-spin his rich, sample-generated electro gloom. The second half of the set featured a dark and menacing composition that made me feel sad and punishedbeat down by a relentless bass sample and noisey static pulses. Ohhhh I love it when that happens!" - Tyler Wardwell, KZSC Santa Cruz

"The final act of the Terrorbird showcase was an artist that I had never head of before called Marnie Stern. Everyone was really excited to see her play, the place was packed from front to back. Next we hear a crunchy guitar being finger tapped and everyone starts to gets excited. BAM, we are hit with it, some fucking good, loud rock music, not to mention Ms. Stern is hella comedian. Rock On Marnie!" - Jemex, Boom Boom Chik
Thanks again to everyone who came. Keep watching this space for more on the bands we like, and we'll see you at CMJ 2011!
