Matt Pond is taking a swing at lowering the volume by playing a series of intimate, solo shows bringing stripped down versions of his own heartfelt songs to venues across the country. Accompanied by Chris Hansen (engineer, co-producer), Matt Pond’s upcoming tour has all the honest-to-goodness makings of a quiet kick-flip in a beautifully burned out basement.

On the very special tour that begins this week in Anaheim, Matt Pond will be playing old favorites along with selections from his most recent album The Dark Leaves (Altitude Records), a record about surrendering and not, about being done with darkness and having something to sing about it. For the recording of The Dark Leaves, Pond holed himself up in a cabin in Bearsville, NY, with producer Chris Hansen. The intimate nature of these recording sessions were a very productive period for the duo and also bring about the tracks on featured free digital release Auri Sacra Fames and the Threeep, a series of three limited edition 7" singles.

Matt Pond has a well-established formula for making accessible, emotionally driven indie pop songs with catchy choruses. The upcoming tour is a rare opportunity to catch Matt Pond play an earnest, stripped down set. All shows are listed below.
