On March 6, 2012 Simulacra Records will release In The Bright Rain the latest from the Dallas-based band Crushed Stars. Consequence Of Sound premiered “Window” from In The Bright Rain, which is available as an MP3 to download and share.

Crushed Stars latest album In The Bright Rain was recorded with Stuart Sikes (White Stripes, Modest Mouse, Cat Power) and once again, the majority of the album’s instrumentation was handled by Todd Gautreau. Guests include drummer Jeff Ryan (St. VincentWar on Drugs) Howard Draper (formerly of Okkervil River/Shearwater) and Buffi Jacobs (The Polyphonic Spree). Crushed Stars beautiful form of quiet indie pop features hints of Red House PaintersThe Clientele, Lambchop and Low with previous efforts have receiving glowing reviews from prominent print and online outlets such as Under The Radar, Pitchfork, Stereogum and many others.

In The Bright Rain features eight original tracks and also includes a cover of British luminary Epic Soundtracks "House on the Hill." Epic was working on the song at the time of his death and never had a chance to properly record the track.

About the new album Crushed Stars frontman Todd Gautreau says, "In the Bright Rain  is an attempt to make a more optimistic record, I wanted to remove some of my own personal baggage from the equation and see if could construct more universal pop songs, though I am not sure if I pulled that off, hence the juxtaposition suggested by the title.”

"The stunning result is enough to make you wish it were night all day long." – Pitchfork

"You won't find a more truthfully evocative Artist - Title pairing, anywhere... very ... dreamy. " – Stereogum
