2010 has been an amazing year for NYC's very own psychedelic dance wizards the Phenomenal Handclap Band. After charging up and down the United States and packing out tents the world over, they are back in the studio hard at work on their second album. With the band locked away, it only seemed right to put their stellar 2009 debut in the hands of some of today's finest remixers and see what they came up with-
'Listening to these remixes, I'm struck with the feeling that many of our originals have been completely reincarnated in the most literal sense of the term. Whether as a heavy dancefloor burner (the Stallions' version of "Tears"), a mind-bending krautrock workout (Fujiya & Miyagi's take on "The Journey To Serra Da Estrela"), or ether-soaked electro (Coco Electrik's "Dim The Lights"), our wayward songs are finally getting to live the lives we wouldn't provide for them.' says Daniel Collás from the band.
